Tone Control for 150W Car Audio Amplifier

The tone control circuit build based on IC LF353 In stereo mode, we shall have the action of eight loudspeakers which are going to create a very important sound pressure.

150W Car Power Amplifier

The power amplifier is built based single LA47536 power IC for each channel. For stereo channel you need two similar circuit for each modul (tone control and power amplifier)

The LA47536 is a 4-channel BTL power amplifier IC developed for use in car audio systems. The output stage features

A pure complimentary structure that uses V-PNP transistors on the high side and NPN transistors on the low side to provide high power and superb audio quality.

The LA47536 includes almost all the functions required for car audio use, including a standby switch, a muting function, and each protection circuit. It also provides a self-diagnosis function (output offset detection).

With the integrated audio TDA8571J designed for automotive applications, this 40w amplifier circuit can expand the sound of the car radio or connect a portable MP3 player in it. Internally, the chip has eight operational amplifier set on the bridge, allowing each speaker terminal being energized. Dont connect the negative terminal of the mass of the speaker, because they will produce a short circuit on the output.

As usual in these kinds of development, the heat dissipation is an important factor forproper cooling to ensure stable operation, but poor ventilation can destructive circuit.Although it has an internal thermal overheating protection, is still destructive.

If you want to use it at home (not recommended), you should use a 12V source capable of draining up to 250w at 12v. Remember that filtering is a key source of success in anyaudio installation. Use a large electrolytic capacitor to eliminate riple and, in turn, foreliminate the RF ceramic capacitors.

For input using shielded cable and RCA female plugs. To connect to the car radio is recommended that you put between it and the amplifier a passive equalizer, In addition to controlling the tone voice, also can reduce in signal strength.

In the audio car application should be very careful where you get power because the system requires a large amount of power. Placing it on top of the light rail is possible to damage the vehicleelectrical system or, alternatively, you can blow the fuse. A good alternative is to place itdirectly from the battery of the car and switch the power through the relay coil halogenlamps which connected in parallel to the antenna output power or control of existing equipment.

Based on the chip was originally designed for car audio, but this amplifier is also ideal for computers with a sound card as the SoundBlaster Live! Creative Labs Inc or Diamond Multimedia Monster Sound / S3.

Cooling:
Heatsink should be enough to keep the chip in the appropriate temperature. You can use a Pentium III with a cooling fan.It is sufficient to connect to Vcc as used 12v like the amplifier.

In many cars, cassette players use amplifiers that power does not exceed 5W with enough distortion to the limits of power. The problem is solved with the use of external amplifiers will have the opportunity to earn much more power with much less distortion. Given the voltage of the car is +12 V, we have the opportunity to take power over a threshold. The solution is to use two amplifiers in bridge connection, so the output quadrupled, at least theoretically, and at best, doubled.

A complete set will be much easier to implement the above, easily and with very few external components, is the TDA1516Q, which contains two amplifiers in a shell, with a profit of 20dB, with protection against overheating and short circuiting. In connection bridge as in the circuit, we can output 18W at 4 Ohm load, with 0.5% distortion and power over 20W by deformation close to 10%, power good for the car. The drive amplifiers can be accessed from the output of existing amplifiers. You may need to engage in a series potesometro, which will adjust the level to a level so as not to have distortion from overdriving. This circuit can be used for purposes other car, driving a small computer speakers. The amplifiers should be placed on a good heatsink.
