MOSFET Power Amplifier 5200W IRFP250

MOSFET Amplifier Schematic 5200w

This is the circuit design of Mosfet power amplifier 5200W RMS, the schematic is for single channel. The circuit uses 16x IRFP250 to gain 5200W RMS power output at 2 ohms load.

To feed this circuit , you will need 150 volts dual polarity (symmetrical) power supply of course with very high DC current.

If you want to build this amplifier circuit, you should be careful and try to find some reference about this kind of circuit since it uses high DC voltage and high DC curent and of course expensive loudspeaker. I haven’t build this circuit yet, try this circuit with your own risk.

  1. A query this project amplifier been tested. You made this assembly. Or they have information that is functional the project.

  3. Please people ,be aware that it is not so common to buid such amplifiaer ,turn on the supply and to hope it sounds.
The voltages and current are pretty big,and smoke and fire are not so difficult to obtain if something goes wrong.
I suggesto to mount initially only an upper and lower MOS,and starting checking it with a >100 ohm power resistor.
I’m curious to see your 6KW power supply, and what do you use to move it,unless it is a switch mode one,or unless you are an icelandic strongman.
I suggest even to have amperometer (shunt R + voltmeter)connected in series to DC supplies, and an hand always ready on the on off switch.
Of course this raccomandation are for absolute beginners.

  4. People asking for a PCB layout, it’s simple … THERE ISN’T ONE! Stop asking. Lay it out yourself. The text said “it’s not been tested, build at your own risk”.

  5. This amplifier will blow your money from the pocket immediatly after you power on.
It`s a scrap schematic. Simple things doesn`t mean they are also good. Avoid this schematic!
Learn from high reputation power amplifier makers. If it was so easy and cheap all of us we could build such things, for nothing. 5200W/2ohm, is good only for welding :))

  6. This amplifier can’t work in this configuration because you use a IRFP250 that have a 200V(DS) limitation, while the maximum possible voltage drop can be 300V (150 + 150) this amplifier may work in a dangerous zone, so I straingly recommend that the maximum voltage does not exceed 2x90V.

  7. Some substrate can easily get damp and poor solidification occurred in parts of the resin in the process of being laminated into substrate, which may contribute to poor quality of drilling holes for the resin in itself is not strong enough, more drilling sewage, or heavy digging of resin in the wall of holes. As a result, baking is a necessary step in the board cutting. In addition, after the multi-layer boards are laminated, poor solidification of resin may occur in the substrate areas where PP is semi solidified and the effect of both drilling holes and smear removal & activation of electroless plating copper will be directly affected.

  8. In this confuguration it is asssumed all MOSFETS having exactly the same data.
That would be an ideal electronic world, bad luck it isnt.
here there will be some MOSFETS getting extremely hot and destroying themselfes in the end,
while their neighbour MOSFET stays cold, its just a matter of difference in bias.
I advice for every MOSFET having its own bias-circuit, to adjust when they will be conducting.
In the diagram presented here its impossible having each MOSFET having the same drain-current.
And even than, its liked driving a 20 wheels truck on an unequal road……
    Cheers,

  9. HI EVERYBODY – I assembled this circuit exactly as depicted but ,for safety ,with only one pair off IRFP250 and 90V . The 100R resistor got so hot that its solder just melted and one off the IRFP250 smoked ! So, has anyone have effectively mounted it and has further information ? I am up to quite . Obs .My site is presently out of air

  10. Ça fait plus de 10 ans que je monte les amplificateursmais depuis une semaine que je travaille sur celle-ci je n’ai pas de bons résultats
